In the dynamic realm of transportation and logistics, trailers play a pivotal role, offering a versatile solution for the movement of goods and materials. At the forefront of this evolving industry stands B&A Trailers, an American company committed to providing outstanding towing solutions that cater to the diverse needs of its clientele.

The company was founded by Benjamin McElrath’s father, Mike McElrath, in 2003. He started building heavy equipment trailers.

The trailers they manufacture would be for a large equipment such as bulldozers, tractors, construction equipment, farm equipment… The trailers they make have a capacity of 7 to 30 tons.

His father started building trailers back in 1988 and Benjamin came along and started building trailers with him in 2003. Benjamin’s father was in a different company and they decided to create B&A trailers, this is the company he has been working for since 2003..

As their company has grown over the years, right now they have twelve employees. They have a network of dealers that they sell through. They have really grown in the past couple of years and tried to move into things that help automate their process.

That’s where web-based nesting software such as Nest&Cut comes in!

What was the problem that made you realize the need for software like Nest&Cut?

In the competitive world of trailer manufacturing, efficiency and precision are the cornerstones of success. Benjamin, the Owner and President of B&A Trailers, shares insights into how Nest&Cut software has revolutionized their operations, streamlining processes and enhancing productivity.

For B&A Trailers, a critical challenge lay in the manual nesting process using AutoCAD. Designing and cutting parts for their trailers was an arduous task, consuming valuable time and resources. Each day, hours were spent meticulously arranging parts, a process that hindered efficiency and strained productivity.

Recognizing the need for a more streamlined solution, Benjamin and his team explored various software options. However, none proved to be the ideal fit until they discovered Nest&Cut. This innovative 2D nesting and cutting web-based application promised to revolutionize their nesting process, offering seamless integration with AutoCAD and a user-friendly interface.

How has Nest&Cut been adopted on a daily basis?

Nest&Cut proved to be a game-changer for B&A Trailers. With its intuitive features and efficient algorithms, the software significantly reduced the time needed for nesting parts. What once took hours of manual labor could now be accomplished in a matter of seconds, empowering the team to focus their efforts on other critical tasks.

The impact of Nest&Cut extended beyond time savings. By optimizing material usage and minimizing waste, the software helped B&A Trailers improve their bottom line while maintaining the high quality of their trailers. Furthermore, its flexibility allowed for seamless integration into their existing workflows, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption.

“We may have been using it for a year, but it’s already paid for itself in terms of time savings and efficiency alone,” remarks Benjamin.

Benjamin’s testimony underscores the invaluable role of Nest&Cut in modern trailer manufacturing. Its ability to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate the quality of craftsmanship has made it an indispensable tool for B&A Trailers and others in the industry. As Benjamin aptly puts it, the true value of such software is often realized through hands-on experience, and Nest&Cut has exceeded expectations at every turn.
